1. Indian Museum, Kolkata:

Founded in 1814, Indian museum in Kolkata is not only the oldest but also the largest museum in the country. As its name suggests, this museum has a rich collection of dolls wearing outfits of different countries. The museum is named after the curator of the dolls K. Shankar Pillai. The Shankar’s International Dolls Museum is partitioned into two sections where one section display dolls from the Asian countries, Africa and Middle east and another section features dolls from UK, USA and other nations.

3. Government Museum, Chennai:

Established in 1851, it is the second oldest museum in the country. Government Museum, also called Egmore Museum, has many impressive displays including bronze sculptures, the colossal museum theatre, old coins, the Connemara Public Library, Buddhist relics and wonderful paintings of Raja Ravi Varma. The museum also houses the best pieces belonging to Chaulkyas and Cholas dynasties.

4. Naval Aviation Museum, Goa:

It is a military museum situated near Vasco Da Gama, Goa. The most interesting part is that it is the only of it kind in the whole Asia. There are two sections of Naval Aviation Museum, indoor gallery and an outdoor exhibit. You can find various types of aircraft engine on display in an outdoor exhibit. On the other side, Indoor galley has several rooms showing aircraft carriers and weapons utilized by the Indian Navy.
